Campaign Update

Al and Tipper Gore kicked off Women for Gore in Washington, D.C. yesterday

"I want to create a 21st Century in which my three daughters have every opportunity that my son will have and in which the vital contributions of women will be recognized and encouraged. The progress we've made in women's rights in this century is only the beginning of the progress we'll make in the 21st Century."

2. First Lady, Women Leaders Endorse Gore

Al Gore launched "Women for Gore" yesterday (6/1) and received pledges of support from over 4,500 women across the country, including First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. Tipper Gore also "surprised" the more than 400 women in attendance at the Washington Mayflower Hotel by announcing that she, too, is endorsing Al Gore.

"No one has fought harder on behalf of America's families and children. And no one will fight harder and be more effective at keeping those priorities on our nation's agenda into the next century." The First Lady said. "He is an exceptional father and husband, a tireless advocate for children and families and he is my choice, and I hope your choice, for the next president of the United States."
